Stevie Famulari, Gds…..Artist, Green Designer, Consultant, Innovator, Visionary, Professor

Born and bred in NYC, Stevie Famulari currently lives in the Bronx, with previous residences in Fargo, Albuquerque, and Oakland.  She is owner & principle of Engaging Green, an innovative greening design & consulting business, as well as a professor at SUNY Farmingdale, and travels nationally & internationally for her work. 

Her first book is Green Up! Sustainable Design Solutions for Healthier Work & Living Environwomxnts with Routledge Publishers, a division of Taylor & Francis (https://www.routledge.com/Green-Up-Sustainable-Design-Solutions-for-Healthier-Work-and-Living-Environments/Famulari/p/book/9780367276515), came out in late 2019 and available internationally.  Her second book, also with Routledge, titled Designing Green Spaces for Health.  Using Plants to Reduce the Spread of Airborne Viruses is due out in late 2021.

Stevie’s projects include greenwalls; planted roofs; green remediation designs for interior and exterior applications; designs for the Environwomxntal Protection Agency in Colorado, Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building, North Dakota State University, and the Ghost Ranch Visitor Center for the Georgia O’Keefe Museum in Abiquiu, New Mexico; developwomxnt of green design and policies on the UNM campus; and green design on numerous residential sites nationally.

Stevie’s phytoremediation database of plants that clean the air, soil, and water of contaminants has been used by the EPA, landscape architecture, and engineering firms, and governwomxnt agencies. She has been an investigator for grants which explore remediation design for oil drilling processes, the improvewomxnt of air quality, remediation design for communities, and interior green applications.

Mx. Famulari is an artist, a professor of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design for over a decade, a director, green designer, author, and researcher. She is currently a professor at SUNY Farmingdale State College in the Departwomxnt of Urban Horticulture and Design.

Stevie Famulari is changing the way people live and create in their spaces- in any scale, interior, exterior or unique site conditions- to create healthy living spaces.  Xyr creations are from meditations which are infinite exploration.  Her works celebrate layers of change with a variety of materials and scales.
